It’s simple. The people of Lake Houston Methodist Church love Jesus and love our neighbor. We are a community of faith that worships passionately, loves extravagantly, and witnesses boldly. We have found hope and freedom in Jesus and want as many people as possible to experience that same hope and freedom.
We worship together on Sunday mornings but believe we are the church throughout the week.
Lake Houston Methodist Church was founded in 1962 as a local United Methodist Church congregation to be a light and hope for Jesus Christ in the Huffman, TX, and the Lake Houston area.
In August 2017, the flood waters of Hurricane Harvey rose and filled the church, making the old sanctuary unusable.
The decision was made to rebuild with a new, modern worship space that would serve as a basis of the church’s ministry to the growing community and surrounding area.
In January of 2023, Lake Houston Methodist Church became part of the Global Methodist Church denomination.
More than ever, Lake Houston Methodist Church is committed to loving God and loving our neighbors. We are grounded in the faithfulness of those who have served over the past 60 years and are reaching out in faith, sharing the love, grace, and hope of Jesus Christ with our neighbors and the new neighbors we will meet with the growth and population increase coming to our area.
What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you’re always welcome at Lake Houston Methodist Church. We’re saving a seat for you. Wherever you are in your faith journey, we welcome you to be part of our family and join us on that same journey!
